Wojciech Lichtański (born in 1989) - one of the most talented alto saxophonists of the Polish young generation, the prizewinner of  the competitions such as the 15th Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, Grand Prix Jazz nad Odrą and many more. His uncommon maturity, refined sound and professional technique can impress every audience. As a composer, he received a few prestigious prizes: a special prize for “Journey with K.” to a big band from Maria Schneider in the competition of the 14th Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa. As a teenager, he won many classical music competitions.

In 2013, he obtained his Master of Arts degree in Saxophone at the Academy of Music in Katowice. At the same Academy he was awarded a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition and Arrangement. He is currently a PhD student at the Academy of Music in Katowice.

Wojciech co-creates several outstanding Polish jazz bands: Aga Derlak Quintet, Piotr Budniak Essential Group. He is also the leader of his own quartet – Wojciech Lichtański Questions. He had the opportunity to perform at many festivals in Poland and abroad: Leverkusen Jazz Festival, Delhi Jazz Festival, Stara Zagora Jazz Festival, Jazz nad Odrą and many more. He cooperated with such musicians as: David Doróżka, Ed Partyka, Jorge Vistel, Janusz Muniak, Piotr Wyleżoł, Jerzy Małek.
